Jean AKA Jeannie AKA Jeanie is a film, book, and magazine reviewer for a national magazine. Most of Jean’s work is done through email, which means he doesn't have to go into the office.
On a trip to find a gift for his girlfriend, Jean found an empty Genie Bottle. Upon picking up this bottle, Jean became the bottle’s new genie-powered occupant. Not only was Jean turned into a genie, but the bottle turned him into what he believed a genie of the bottle should look like. Which, due to his fascination with a classic 60s TV show, turned him into a busty blonde woman.
A junior engineer working for a small engineering firm in Cocoa Beach. The firm focuses mostly on NASA projects.
Neil is Jean’s best friend. When Jean was turned into a genie, Neil became Jeanie’s master.
Given the expected tropes for this kind of story, I am willing to wager that Jean can’t change into an actual male form (and may have limits on how much the feminine body shape can be reduced). We’re likely to see Jean using the “looks like a slightly girly version of her old face” look and binding her chest–the situation just wouldn’t fit the comedic storytelling without there being some risk of Belle discovering that Jean is now a girl.
I think Jean might just show, that Jean and Jeannie are the same person. Jean’s head on Jeannie’s body might just do that, though the reaction on Belle’s part might be not as expected.
A crossdresser, and now I want to read family compo again where the couple are crosdressers because if they try to dress as their real gender they look like crossdressers.
I loved that manga! The scene where the two parents come to that school function dressed as their biological sex was hilarious! I really didn’t like that tease about never finding out what gender the sister was, though.
It looks like Jean is going to try impersonating himself (!) rather than come right out and tell Belle the real story. Apparently he hasn’t thought of making a male duplicate of him/herself–which Jean did way back when Guano thought Natalie was Jean. But that duplicate didn’t talk–which does fit the IDOJ trope because when Jeannie got married in the series she had to make a duplicate of herself to be photographed because real genies don’t show up in photos. As I recall, the duplicate couldn’t talk.
One of the elephants in the room that hasn’t been noticed yet is why do genies have to be, basically, slaves? Sounds like the kind of issue Belle could really sink her fangs into, doesn’t it?
Jean needs to convince his/her girlfriend that he didn’t forget about her. Not much she can do about the new body but a haircut, some voice alteration and a general illusion or a bodysuit ought to help.
Yea,I have, but, Who am I to judge, eh? I couldn’t draw a stick if my life depended on it. We may critique this dude’s style good naturedly, but he’s trying, he’s writing it, man. We’re reading it, and liking it enough to reply on the forum. on the other hand, I’m worried about Jean’s freakishly narrow waist! Either that or her pants are really puffy! It is interesting to press the ‘First’ button, and flash back to day one, and compare. Jean’s eyes and Neils hair have more detail than they do now.
Interesting. She’s trying to figure out a why to look like her male self again, so she can talk to her old girlfriend. There are a few tricks that could help her slowly begin to appear male. For one, she’ll need to make her chest smaller, which wouldn’t make her have a male chest, but be a flat chested woman.
Next would be the baggy clothes. Possibly pants. Hides the hips. Or she narrows them a bit too. Again wouldn’t change her gender. She just has to look a little androgynous and let the clothes take care of the rest.
That, or she could use a very strange transformation, which I am a little unsure if I should mention or not.
Jean did transform into two different women with narrower hips back in Story 5: the Bond girls Honey Ryder (D.. No) and Vesper Lynn (?) (From Russia with Love). And as I have pointed out several times, Jean created a male Neil alongside the female Natalie to convince Guano to go away for awhile. Plus, Natalie convinced the Boss she was Neil by covering up. The last is probably the route I think Jean will try. Of course, something will go wrong (buttons popping? Belle notices some critical differences in a hug? Jean gets knocked out and Belle loosens “his” clothes?)…
I really don’t know what to say….except this is definitely going to be interesting to see what happens next.
SWEET BA-JEBUS covers it.
Holy secret identity Batman!
I thought the hat was glued to her head.
I thought it was part of the head. What happened to Jean’s hair?
And why doesn’t Neil just wish for pizza?
Nah, she’s had it off numerous times. Sure, that’s probably because CDRudd forgot to draw it… but still!
Sorry Jean, but cutting your hair short is NOT going to make you look like a man.
yeah, there’s a couple of details that kind of stand out.
looks to me like Jean is trying to look like his old self again. Question is how will it fool Bell before it wears off.
If that’s what Jean’s doing, he’s not doing a particularly good job of hiding her “assets”.

I’m fairly sure it was established early on her shapeshiftings female only at least till she gets a lot more experienecd.

If a woman, who used to be a man, tries to crossdress as a man, even though he’s a woman, what does that make the woman, who used to be a man?

Victor/Victoria
Since we seem to have moved onto a new storyline (rather than just a cutaway as I orignally thought) I’ll ask this now (and hope for an answer grin).
First part.
Would people rather be changed into a Jeanie style genie or a sam style witch?
Second part.
Would you opinion change if the transformation came with a master/spouse of the Darren/Neil we saw in the preceeding story variety?
Third part
Would your opinion change if the Darren/Neil had the personality of the ones in the original tv shows not these comics?

I’m not sure a bodysuit could hide Jeannie’s ample assets.
Amplets?
Saw this coming.
Fatsuit. Say he’s been erm, lambing out on the Middle Eastern food. 😛
From looks on Neil he is surprized more by her feminanwhles then the hair
Okay…this is not what I was expecting
Has anyone else noticed how the characters in this world have their ears almost down to their necks, like Mr. Crocker from Fairly Oddparents?

Her pants are really puffy. Just watch one of the old “I Dream of Jeannie” episodes where Barbra Eden is in the harem costume.
They have fingers now too.
Fingers are good, but I wish he’d go back to drawing Jean’s eyes the way they were in the first comic.
When I saw this strip the first thing that came to mind was this Bill Cosby routine: http://youtu.be/8ysFvUizRj8?t=4m40s
And I laughed!
What we have here is an excellent opportunity to snap a quick photo with that Iphone…
That it is clearly an Orange oPhone.
Well, as long as it isn’t a Crapple. 😛

Imagine how easier this would all be if Jean would just tell belle he’s Jeanie.
