Jean AKA Jeannie AKA Jeanie is a film, book, and magazine reviewer for a national magazine. Most of Jean’s work is done through email, which means he doesn't have to go into the office.
On a trip to find a gift for his girlfriend, Jean found an empty Genie Bottle. Upon picking up this bottle, Jean became the bottle’s new genie-powered occupant. Not only was Jean turned into a genie, but the bottle turned him into what he believed a genie of the bottle should look like. Which, due to his fascination with a classic 60s TV show, turned him into a busty blonde woman.
A former Genie Lord, Kazom is a 3000+ year old Genie who exists in the form of a witch familiar while still serving as a genie to a teenage boy in California.
OK, I’m hopelessly thick I’m sure, but what other meaning of “TV?”
I just assume that the TV show in the comic’s universe is not exactly like the one in our universe. There may be some trans-gender, genie conversion element to it.
You’d want TG more than TV but yes it should be interesting to see how he handles the fact the new genie (I assume by one of those genie’s he just means a transformed mortal) used to be male.
Well it’s not so simple.
Eternal life, eternal health, eternal youth, magical superpowers on one side. But on the other one, being forced to obey a master, having to deal with bad temper genies like Guano…
I have no answer, I’m sorry.
I’d have to say I’d wanna be a Genie…Come on…it’s Phenominal Cosmic Power! And as a sexy Genie, I’d probably be able to weasel a wish for my freedom out of some horndog teenage nerd…and then turn him into something fitting (Depending on how perverted his first two wishes were) – If he wasn’t too greedy or perverted, I’d probably change his metabolism so he builds muscle mass more easily and doesn’t accumulate fat beyond a healthy level..if he was a total scuzzball, I hope he learns to enjoy being turned into a girl…
OK, so this has happened before, and Kazom knows the what/how/why, since he doesn’t seem especially surprised. Some kind of djinni magic turns people into djinni, and it’s related to the TV show, but transformed djinni evidently aren’t distinguishable from mainstream djinni otherwise, even to other djinni. Whether a reverse transformation is possible or whether it’s a life sentence for opening a genie bottle after wishing to ravish a TV genie character is something we’ll just have to wait and see. If the premise is community service and time off for good behavior, though, then Jeannie is in for the long haul…
Just because Kazom was able to re-materialize Jeannie as a middle-school girl doesn’t mean he (or perhaps even Lord Guano) can break the fundamental spell/curse/whatever it is.
I wonder what Barbara Eden would think of this comic. She turned 78 last month (same birthday as mine) and hasn’t performed in a couple of years. Her bio shows that being rich and beautiful is no guarantee of a great life (two failed marriages and the death of her only child by drug overdose).
I’m trying to figure out why “Haven’t you ever seen the TV show?” is an answer to the question “You were a man?” Kazom might know about the spell or curse, but why would Jeannie know that and think that was the way to answer the question? Have to wait for a Rudd revelation…
Gotta ask, what is the problem, really. you got a hot bod, a sweet rack that must would kill for, and you are pretty much all powerful. Less you have a period issue…… I mean, seriously, what is the issue
Well there is the fact your someones slave, the possibility of being locked up alone in your bottle for a couple of centuries, the whole discrimination/patronization issue girls put up with and the fact a lot of guys would be no more comfortable as a girl than a TG person is comfortable in their birth gender. Personally I’d still take being a genie of the opposite sex but I can see that wouldn’t be for everyone.
wonder what he means
I wonder if he’ll actually do it.
One of those genies? How many other Jeannies are out there?
What’s in Jeannie’s hair? Looks like a bottle.
No! That’s the arm on the poster behind her.
Okay, now I see that. It’s weird because it blended in with the hair.
Took her long enough to tell him that…
“Haven’t you ever seen the TV show?”
…I don’t remember that detail from the TV show.
I’m sure it has to do with the fact that Jeanie looks exactly like the character on the TV show.
I’m thinking it has more to do with the other meaning of “TV”
I hadn’t even thought about that meaning, but it makes some sort of sense. Not sure which of the five yet, but some sort of sense.
OK, I’m hopelessly thick I’m sure, but what other meaning of “TV?”

Another meaning for TV is transvestive or a cross dresser

Finally! Gene comes back and wants HIS body back!
Here’s a question that should be our next poll:
If you were magically changed into a genie of the opposite sex, would you prefer:
a) To be given back the body you had, even though it means losing all your genie powers.
b) Remain as the opposite-sex genie.
For me,I chooise B.
(Why should I be a fat man who is a loser, when I can be a sexy genie?)

It could mean that this has happened before and Gene is the latest in a whole line of people who have been poofed.

“Oh, you’re one of THOSE genies.” I look forward to seeing this explained next page.
I think he’ll refuse to turn her back and she’ll get so peeved at him she’ll use her magic to make him unable to have children.
I turned 40 yesterday.
Dam that makes me the old guy here at 40 and 11/12 🙁
Old guy,yes. However, I’m 60 and a woman.
Trust me, you aren’t the oldest. I’m 58 and a guy.
67 and TG

Maybe she could turn Ash Upton from Misfile back into a boy.
Amber has anyone ever been sexist toward you saying that since you’re a woman you don’t have what it takes to succeed in life? If so they’re wrong.
