Jeanie Bottle 155
I sense some of you want to see the comic move a bit faster (as do I), so I made an extra large comic for this update to help move things a little.
To answer some concerns in the previous comic. The panel framing was meant to hide the change in hair and wardrobe till the last panel. I was also trying to do a slight upward angle, which didn’t work out, and made the characters look older… (my bad).
I think some of you saw where this was going long ago in Comic 103.
Either A) she’s not a cheerleader or B) they just got the idea to use a cheerleader
So… what led Jeannie to id the cheerleader as Holly?
Deep inside that body, Jean is still thinking like a guy. So he assumed Melvin was interested in the pretty cheerleader rather than the nice but average girl off to the side.
Chibi-Jean in panel just looks so utterly adorable.
I have nothing else to say.
You might want to resize it for web resolution, unless you’re getting all fancy large for Retina displays.
3308x3252px is just a wee bit large, even for an extended strip. Took a while to load up, even on my broadband connection…
Thanks, by the way, for giving us extra panels today~ ^.^
Opps, my bad… it’s fixed now.
So the truth comes out. Holly wasn’t the cheerleader. In other words, this is all Jean’s fault. I think her body now matches her maturity.
I thank you for your understanding and patience, CD. I’ve engaged in the creative process myself a few times (including a novel, Skye Sparkler, that I published through POD) and know how easy it is to take criticism the wrong way. (Yes, I’ve been guilty of it myself a few times.)
I think I need to reread the entire story so far to remind myself of where things are going. I have to say, for what’s essentially a TG story (TG being one of the few TFs I’m NOT a fan of), I’ve been enjoying it.
And, I’m old enough to remember when there were a lot of continuity strips (Steve Canyon, Terry and the Pirates, Winnie Winkle) still around, and some of their stories could go on for years. (The worst I ever saw was a Brenda Starr story in the early 70s where Dale Messick got SO carried away/lost with things that she pulled a Pam Ewing, and the continuity for over a year and a half turned out to be a dream.)
I’m guessing Redgirl is gonna dress up as a cheerleader, possibly impersonating Holly.
I suspect that we’re going to see the redhead dressed as a cheerleader. She’s going to wind up a lot more girly than she planned to be. It should be fun to read.
As plans go, “so far, so good………”
Too bad she can’t stay like that, she looks so cute.
And I wonder if Melvin’s friend is EVER going to get a chance to ask the genie to turn her back into a dude before she ends up getting used to it.
She’d better get used to it, because Jean(nie) is so narcissistic that (s)he will do a bunk as soon as his/her immediate problem is solved, leaving everyone else stuck with whatever havoc Jean’s selfishness (and cosmic genie powers) has created.
Of course, Jean(nie) has a problem, too: If Jeannie ever gets back to being Jean again, there go the cosmic genie powers, which Jean definitely likes having. “I’m the one who does the *POOF*ing around here…”
But as soon as we find out for sure that Holly is not the cheerleader, it will be unlikely that our redhead dresses up as one. Unless she decides that, stuck as a girl, she might as well learn to trade on her looks…
