Good thing Jean is not really a teacher. I can just hear the parents screeching for her resignation after this ‘assignment’.
The wide-eyed boys and glaring girls amuse me.

Now, the interesting thing here is, I’m sure the class is thinking, “Romance!”
But Jean is a player; he’s thinking, “Game!”
One of the girls isn’t glaring 2nd row left in fact she’s almost blusing.

I figure Jean noticed, too – which is why she says “…or, whatever.”
Making the class write a love letter is SUCH a chick thing.
A guy would tel lthem the write an adventure story or a fantasy!

As a rule, yes, but remember – she’s working with a goal in mind. Namely to get a guy near the “chick.”
Jean seems to be good at thinking on his/her feet. This bit as a substitute teacher was good and the assignment better. Though Jean may be the girl most of those guys are going to write letters too.

As per the poll, Jeannie *should* succeed as a teacher, without it getting messed up by someone. That would take the story in an interesting direction. And in particular, having this get messed up is just what people would expect as that is typical in stories like this, so do something different and show success!

Neil works as a NASA contractor, so he’s probably someplace near Houston, or Cape Canaveral, or Greenbelt (Maryland). Except that Jean went surfing the other day, which kind of rules out Houston or Greenbelt. Not sure how much surfing is done near KSFC in Florida.
Of course, Melvin could be _anywhere_, since Jean arrived by *POOF* transport. Neil’s been to London, Paris, and the mall today, and it isn’t even lunchtime yet. (Wonder if he gets Frequent POOFer Miles.)
You’re actually pretty much right, lol. Melvin lives near Los Angeles.
I actually had a teacher – a male teacher – who assigned this very task to my English class in high school. At an all boys school. Then we had to post them. It was massively awkward, but the task does have a point.

we generally overlook minor mistakes. The comic is too funny and we want regular updates.

Jeannie’s skin tone seems a bit off, though. It’s less flesh-colored and more..green. At least that’s how it looks to me.
I had to go looking, too. It isn’t in the comic, it is in the poll answers: “She won’t make it threw the class (5%, 27 Votes)”
Also, the “Current_Header.png” is the bunny version of Neil again, though it had been switched back to young Jeanie after Easter. Is there significance, or is that a mistake..?
Looks like someone found there way into the page I use to manage which image is set as the Header image.
Not to worry, I’ve added password protection to it now. The header image should be ‘Pre-teen Jeanie’
I think the “whatever” (“girlfriends or boyfriends or … whatever”) is short for “girlfriends who used to be boys, or boyfriends who used to be girls.” For some reason, Jean realizes that even in this small junior-high classroom, sex-changed […]friends are a possibility.
I agree with Jim. Her skintone is off a bit. Also, in the 2nd panel, her face is a bit ….. off. I think its the sunken cheeks.
I actually like the idea of Jeane/Jeannie become successful as a teacher, though only a substitute teacher. I think she is on to bigger and better things. Also, if she becomes a teacher things might get boring. 😉
I can see 90% of the love letters being to her
