The Blue Djinn is an evil genie who was apparently defeated by Lord Guano in the past. But now he's back, and he's angling to take down the Genie Lords... but how does Jeanie factor into his plans?
Jean AKA Jeannie AKA Jeanie is a film, book, and magazine reviewer for a national magazine. Most of Jean’s work is done through email, which means he doesn't have to go into the office.
On a trip to find a gift for his girlfriend, Jean found an empty Genie Bottle. Upon picking up this bottle, Jean became the bottle’s new genie-powered occupant. Not only was Jean turned into a genie, but the bottle turned him into what he believed a genie of the bottle should look like. Which, due to his fascination with a classic 60s TV show, turned him into a busty blonde woman.
A junior engineer working for a small engineering firm in Cocoa Beach. The firm focuses mostly on NASA projects.
Neil is Jean’s best friend. When Jean was turned into a genie, Neil became Jeanie’s master.
Hah! I just noticed Lily crawling up into Rodge’s lap at the right hand side of the last frame. She’s actually kneeling on a bar stool, a good trick. But that level of PDA is going to attract some unwanted staff attention.
@CayleyGraph: Yup. And anyone who allows themselves to be seduced and eaten by a plant while trying to order drinks at the bar is by definition unfit. “Think of it as evolution in action.”
I agree. I like Lily and hope she stays around after this story arc. Hey, there’s a lot of magic around, so maybe something magical could happen to her that changes her from plant to human…
…and don’t even TRY to tell me that’s too weird for this comic!
Rog (and that’s how people without a D in their names spell it) might be surprised, but he’s going with the program. Check out where his hands are in the last panel.
If Lilly was so hungry, how come she is letting her steak get cold? Or maybe plants don’t care. OTOH, my pansies do fine in the winter, but just gave up in the heat.
First morning as a Genie, Jeanie was in need of a coffee, and she is still accustom to many different drinks according to her, and we know that genies do eat (at some point Araceli has to decide to be Vegan after all), but we don’t know how much they actually need it. I mean, according to the info page the also don’t need to sleep, but we all remember how well that went for Jeanie. So it may be similar with the sleep part and it’s something that will not kill them if they don’t have it, but they still need it to work properly.

Is there somewhere else that CD makes announcement for something like that other then this site and if so then you have my apologies but I just find it odd for someone like CD to have a 7 day delay and not give an heads up to his readers.
As a general rule, CD does it every 7 days unless he get busy and doesn’t have time to it. Because, doing these comics can take 20 to 30 hours a week to do them. So need to be patient with him. But, having said that, he generally put them out every Tuesday or Thursday and it only Wednesday, so if it not out tomorrow, you could actually say that it late.
I Dream of a Jeanie Bottle has always been a weekly comic. It used to regularly post on Tuesdays, and occasionally also on a Thursday. These days, it’s posted pretty consistently on Thursday. In fact, this week’s comic will be going live in a few hours.
What I want to say, after doing a hit and miss with this cartoon site, and reading some other, my honest opinion, it’s a fun, whimsical story line, and I like the way characters drawn, to have a more sophisticated drawing, well I would just say the softer one work better here. The plots are more like the old Mr. Toad ride. Just sit back and see where it takes you.
Roger you better watch out for that tree (George of the Jungle)
I am a little concern.
Jean act fast cause when Neil says Jean stays its all over with.
It was nice knowing those 2….
Just a reminder, folks: Jean had nothing to do with this. This is Blue’s working. And it’s a mistake. It’s too much, too soon, too public.
Potato that he can be, this has got to be tripping Neil’s alarms, hard.
Even Rodge looks pretty taken aback.

Art note: compare Rodge’s complexion with Lily’s. Ridge is greener than Botanical Girl, which point amuses me quite a bit.
(Those of you who are not seeing Rodge as having a greenish cast, what does he look like to you?
Laying my marker down now: I bet Lily smells really nice. Downside: she attracts bees when she’s outdoors.
I hope she gets freed of Blue. I think she’d be perfect for Rodge–providing he can keep her fed.
> oviding he can keep her fed.
She eats people.
And steak. But yeah, that might be a problem.
Maybe Jeanie can help when she gets rid of Blue.
There’s no call for diet-shaming, Robert. We all have nutritional needs.
She would be a natural for working in a mortuary.

Well, if Lily goes to far with Rodge in the wrong way. We will just change his name to Bat Crap Jr. No, problem at all. Problem solved.
Fine for one of them, for the moment.

That’s probably Jeanie’s steak.
Speaking of which… does Jeanie still eat? I don’t know if it’s been established that genies in the JB universe need to do so.

The plants! The plants are multiplying! Soon they will takeover the entirety of the background!
Day of the Triffids.
90s child, having flashbacks to poison ivy!
So long as it’s any version that’s NOT Uma Thurman, I can allow it.
BAT CREDIT CARD?!?
Count yourself lucky your first thought wasn’t the Bat-Nipples
I’m having flashbacks to a movie that was George Clooneys finest work.
“Return of the Killer Tomatoes'”
If the sound trak plays “Puberty Love” Lilly will turn back into a plant.
If the sound track plays “Puberty Love” I might turn back into a plant. That was the most brilliantly awful piece of musical manure ever devised.
And I thought I was the only one who liked that movie or even remembered it.
@gary – like it, yes. Remember it, no.
jeez is the scobie gang going to have to show up and give Neil a clue.
Is the comic on an hiatus ?

Ah, ok.
For a time there was 2 updates a week but I guess it ended and I simply did not notice it.
Either way its my bad and thank you for clarifying that I appreciate the answer.
