I didn’t think there was such a thing as too much spice until I had this Hindu dish. It was so spicy it didn’t taste like anything yet still managed to make my eyes cry as if someone had just shot in front of me all of the pets I ever had in my life.
Saganaki is kefalotyrie cheese and olive oil, baked. NO spices. Not hard to make, except for finding someplace that sells kefalotyrie. Some restaurants in the US set it on fire with ouzo, but that is not authentic Greek. Why a djinn would cook this particular dish is a mystery. Maybe something she used to make before the punishment, when her master asked for it? But the dialog is a bit contradictory. Also, not something that would aggravate an ulcer. And don’t we know that ulcers are caused by bacteria now?
From what I have read, some do make it spicy to taste. Also at that time ulcers were thought to be caused by stress and spicy food and not just aggravated by it.
Ray adding spices MIGHT be the reason her Saganaki isn’t good.
also Andy might be using the Ulcer as a polite why to get out of eating her Spicy Saganaki.
Saganaki is essentially the Greek version of cheese sticks. Floured cheese, fried. I guess you could spice it, but from Andy’s expression, it’s clear that Rouyaa has gone a bit overboard with the hot sauce in the past, and he’d rather not be a test subject again.
She’s undoubtedly experimenting with various foreign dishes. Probably she’s still getting used to trying to cook her own food, rather than just ‘poof’ing it up. And it seems she’s not very good at it, yet. 😉
If it taaakes forever, I will wait for you…
Well, at least she seems to have a purpose, and to have retained her optimism. Even if Andy isn’t much for spicy food. 😉
So, she seens to have almost awakened a memory in him. Perhaps if she mentions the name “Rouyaa”, he might remember more.
She did say “again”, witch could mean she had him over before, and that he remembers that.
I’m wondering, if she even remembers, what that bottle means.
She knows she used to be a genie. I’m sure she’s fully aware of that bottle. Probably keeps it as a keepsake and reminder of her master.
Saganaki with too many hot spices?
How is that even possible?

looks like a bit of Andy’s memory came back in the 2nd panel.

Andy are you okay? Are you okay?
Are you okay, Andy?

As far as ulcers go, she’s probably a carrier…
