Heads up everyone, the ‘Create a Jeanie’ Contest is almost at it’s end.
If your unaware, here’s the DeviantART post,
http://sunmk.deviantart.com/journal/30866422/
This contest is to create a genie that will be used in the comic. If your interested, you have till the end of hte week to make a submission.
Here’s the objective.
There will be an appearance of a new female genie character in the up coming comics. This new genie has to be female, a bottle genie, and she is currently on/in the ocean trapped in her bottle.
Beyond that I leave her design, history, bottle design and even her name up to you. You can use any guide you want, the TV show, comic, or make a Genie completely of your own.
The contest will be open till the end of April (2010).
The prize
The prize will be a selection of ‘I Dream of a Jeanie Bottle’ items from the DA prints/store.
How do you submit your entry?
Post your Genie entry on your DeviantArt page, and add a message (with the link/url) on this journal entry for all to see. The entries will be judged by myself and a select group of impartial judges on design and concept. Artistic ability will not be a deciding factor. Include as much or as little information about your genie as you want.
Rules and conditions,
1) You can submit as many entries as you want,
2) The winning entry’s character will be draw into the ‘I Dream of a Jeanie Bottle’ and may appear in future comics,

4) The winning submission creator must agree to free use of the character,
5) The winning submission must be PG rated in appearance.
6) The submission must have a graphical picture of the Genie, but artistic ablitly won’t be judged.
I look forward to reviewing your submissions.

The Deadline has past and all the entires can be seen on my DA page. Thanks to all who entered.

You’ll never guess what happened. I was working on the comic today(Sunday). And while in the middle of it, got called into work. I figured I’d be back in the evening so I could finish the comic then. Well, not so. I got back home at 11:23 PM. AND I have to be back in to work for 6 am tomorow. So I’m going to hit the hay tonight and attempt to finish the comic tomorrow.

Hello all,
I’ve decided to attempt a Ustream, Thursday evening at 7 pm (EST). There you can see me work on a project, ask questions, and I’ll do my best to answer your questions.
If your curious about how SailorSun.org or I Dream of a Jeanie bottle is created, it’s the prefect time to find out.
Watch SailorSun.org and I Dream of a Jeanie bottle for detials on where to find me on Ustream this Thrusday.

This is not a promise, but I will be attempting to complete a I Dream of a Jeanie Bottle Comic every weekday this week. So stay tuned for daily updates.
This is for this week only, I intend to go back publishing as I can, next week.

It’s official. One year ago, I started the website for the comic.
The first couple I Dream of a Jeanie bottle comics were already posted on DeviantArt but because the comics became so popular amongst the readers, it deserved it’s own website.
I hope you’ve all enjoyed the comic so far, and keep reading to see the antics of Jean and Neil for another year.

OK, lately I’ve been getting a bit of slapping around about spell checking and grammar.
I’ve been accused of being everything from lazy, incompetent, to being dyslexic. So let me point out a couple things.
First of all, I have never been diagnosed as dyslexic. If you want to believe I am, I don’t really care, but it would be nice to stop posting I am. Most of my spelling and grammar mistakes are common mistakes that can be made by anyone. I’ve never excelled at spelling in school and guess what, lots of people suck at it. Some people are good spellers, some aren’t.
I’d love to have a buffer of comics and proof readers, but the rare times I do get a buffer, it gets used up and I’m back to rushing comics before deadlines. Which means the spelling is sometimes overlooked.
Second of all, I make comics as a HOBBY! I like drawing and I like making comics. I don’t generate enough revenue for it to be anything CLOSE to a job. For my actual job, I fix equipment that costs millions of dollars. I’m trusted to maintain and keep devices working that thousands of people depend on and some depend on for their very lives, and I often work in very hazardous conditions and locals. And you know what, I’ve dam good at my job, I enjoy it, and I probably make more money then most of the people who read webcomics.
I’ve poured a lot of time, finances, and energy into making these comics. Because I enjoy it, and I’d hope others would enjoy reading them too. I don’t rely on income from webcomic for anything other then helping with promoting the comics.
If my spelling upsets you so much, I have a very simple solution.
STOP reading the comic.
I mean, I don’t get it. Who’s forcing you to sit in front of a computer and read poorly spelt comics?
I have no problem with people pointing out spelling errors. Even though I sometimes feel like crap for missing a obvious mistake, at least I’ll know about it so I can eventually fix it. I do try to fix mistakes but fixing them is a lot more work then just going in and altering a picture. I have 3 digital copies of each comic. You only see one of them. When I fix the spelling on one comic I need to fix the others to, which ends up taking time.
It you want to be a troll or a smart ass, I have no problem banning you from the site. And if it becomes a big enough bother, then I’ll stop making the comics all together or focus on making comics to publish on Lulu or some other self-publishing site. People who WANT to read my comics could buy them instead of reading them for FREE online.
Remember, ‘I Dream of a Jeanie Bottle’ was suppose to be a one time comic. It’s only being continued because fans want it continued.

Well, up till now, the policy for updates has been ‘When I Can’. Which has lead to an average of once a week.
At the end of this month I’ll be going away for an extended trip for work.
As such I have no idea how this will effect comic posting on both SailorSun.org and I Dream of a Jeanie Bottle. till I go, I’ll be working on a making some kind of a buffer. Which will mean, that ‘I Dream of a Jeanie Bottle’ comic will be limited to ‘No more then once a week’ till I can determine how often I can update at the new location.
Hopefully this will minimize the website down time.
If you’ve been following my Twitter, you’d already know I’ve left japan and am at a midway travel point before returning to work in the middle east. Tomorow is the final leg of my journey back. If all goes well, I will be back at my computer tomorrow evening.
Hopefully I can get a sailorsun.org and Jeanie comic pumped out within a couple days after my return. As well as make cleaner scans of the drawings made while on vacation.
Thanks for all of you for waiting and watching without updates till I am able to get back to the comics
Even if you don’t celebrate Christmas, girls in skimpy holiday outfits are always a good thing. Something Jean is discovering.
Has anyone ever noticed in all the ‘I Dream of Jeannie’ TV shows, they never had a Christmas episode? (Not including the episode about the Christmas-savings-bank-bit.) I think we all missed prime opportunity to see Barbra Eden in some kind of Christmas genie outfit.
Oh well, I hope you all have a good holiday season this year.

I keep checking some of my favorite webcomics, and I see more and more slowly slipping into long-hiatuses or even non-existences. It’s a sad thing to see the passage of time slowly taking away the things we enjoy so much. While others start up and die quickly, many have stood the test and have proven themselves to the public, only to be stopped by the creator/author/writer/etc skipping an update, then two, or three, then a week, a month, a year goes by and no updates.
Every so often I chat with other webcomic artists, who tell me there reasons for not updating, “I have work”, “I can’t find the time.”, “I don’t have the energy.”, “I’m depressed.” All valid reasons to delay updates, after all, the comics are a hobby, not a job for many of us. And the whole time in the back of my head I’m thinking “Really??… If I can be in a WAR zone and keep updating 2 webcomics (even though the updates schedules may be delayed), you can’t update one once in a while? or at least buckle down and make a conclusions for the fans?
Though I get writers block and delayed at times for various reasons, I’m glad that you haven’t given up on me, because despite how busy I get, or where I am, I plead to keep both ‘I Dream of a Jeanie Bottle’ and SailorSun.org going as best as I can, till they are concluded and not before.
Another year approaches, or has approached depending on when your reading this post.
I hope you get to spend the end of 2010 with family, friends and/or loved ones. And that 2011 brings all you expected,
and hoped for, except for one thing. That way you’ll have something to hope for into 2012.
This time of year many people set new years resolutions, my resolution is to at least get the WOLFPAC started. I’m sure Jean’s resolution is to get out of this mess she has gotten herself into, and for Niel… well, no idea what Neil’s resolution would be… probably not to be turned into a girl by Jean.
Since Xmas there has been a poll for whom you wanted to see in a new Years costume… and the winner, by 44%, Jeanie.” SO to the right (as I’m sure you’ve already noticed), is Jeanie drinking a little bit too much on New years eve… I’ll leave it up to you imaginations what brought on Jeanie’s drunken behavior, and more interestingly, is how she decided to dress up in that outfit for new years.
Lastly I’d like to thank all you readers who have kept reading “I Dream of a Jeanie Bottle”, either you just started or have starting reading for the beginning. It’s great to have loyal fans. I know I everyone would rather see me updating more frequently, and I’m happy that despite the lack of regular updates you keep reading.
Hello All, I’ve decided to jump on the face-book bandwagon.
Anyone wanting to be-friend me, I’m listed as ‘C.d. Rudd’, since ‘CD Rudd’ isn’t acceptable for some reason.
It seems like stores, TV and radio just move from holiday to holiday. Being in the middle east, without TV or commercial stores to visit, I almost missed it. Thankfully I have an English-speaking-German radio station I listen too.
With the start of the Easter season, I’ve switched to the Easter… ah… ‘bunny’ for the header image. I hope you all enjoy and have a pleasant Easter.
And for those who don’t celebrate Easter…
BUNNY GIRL!
BUNNY GIRL!
BUNNY GIRL!

Hello all,
CD Rudd will be out of commission for the next few days or so, due to having to go to the hospital. It’s nothing too serious, just a bacterial infection that needs some TLC.
This hopefully won’t impact the comics too much, but may cause the next update to be a little later then usual.

Hello All,
Thanks for your concern about my recent hospital stay. Not to worry, I’m out now. I have not yet been able to returned to my office/accommodation (where my computer and comic making things are), but am in a holding area waiting to get back. I’m also on some pretty kick ass drugs, which makes the stay a little more interesting.
Since I’m cut off from my comic making equipment and resources, I’ve taken the opportunity to get the website’s services updated. This is something I’ve been meaning to do for a while. There is a down side to this. Apparently applying the latest updates also erases the format and configuration files. The comic, blog and comment database remains unchanged, but this does mean, having to rebuild the website’s appearance and configuration. Some of you keen observers may have already noticed the changes.
I’m going to keep plunging away at this, so you may see some more changes and effects on the website as I’m working on it. No worries, hopefully the site will look better then it did before.
I’m sure many of you are wondering why CD hasn’t posted any new comics.
The reason is simple, CD is currently in a 3rd world country in the middle east for work. At the moment he has no internet access, hence cannot update comics.
Next chance he gets to post comics he will. SO keep an eye out for them.
Well, I knew it would be coming soon.
We’re in a final big RUSH to get as much stuff done before I travel home at the end of next month (end of July). Which means I’ll be focusing on work more, and comics less.
I will still try to update both I Dream of a Jeanie Bottle and SailorSun.org, but updates at times might be far and few between. I expect the rush to be over by August, and if all goes well will resume my old schedule shortly after.
Well, after most a year in the middle east (Afghanistan) I’ll be heading home before the end of the month. There is a family event in Europe which I have to attend at the end of August, but with any luck I should be returning to a semi/normal schedule in or right after August.
This does mean I’ve effectively missed the CON-Season. The only Con I know of that I hopefully will be able to attend is Hal-con in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. As such I’m curious if there are many Halifax fans (or fans attending Hal-con from out of town) of SailorSun.org and/or I Dream of a Jeanie Bottle.
If there are a number interested, I’ll see about setting up a Meet & Greet somewhere near by the convention. I use to live in Halifax, so I have a general knowledge of the city.
Well, after long last I’ve returned back home. After 335 days away mostly in Afghanistan, I’m finally back.
Now what does this mean? Well,
I’m not sure if I should be bring back the donations on SailorSun.org but I’ll have that decided before September.
I’m glad to be back and I look forward to getting back into the swing of things.

Hey all,
I’m looking for suggestions on improving ‘I Dream of a Jeanie Bottle’. What do you think should be added or removed to make the site better? More artwork? pages? etc…

Well, plans have been finalized!
Despite missing the con-season for the past 2 years (due to training and being in Afghanistan), I’ve finally made all the arrangements required to attend (probably the only con I can make it too this year) Hal-con in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
I’m not sure how many SailorSun.org and ‘I Dream of a Jeanie Bottle’ fans are attending this November, but I hope to see some of you there. I won’t have a booth, but I will be roaming around, usually wearing the a SailorSun.org logo on my shirt.
If there’s enough interest I’ll look into setting up another meet-and-greet somewhere in Halifax during the weekend. (Probably someplace that serves Atlantic Donairs… I miss those.)

Well, Hal-con was lots of fun, and the couple days I took to spend with friends and family afterwards equally enjoyable.
Now I have to get back to the buisness of posting comics. My computer’s Operating System has to still be re installed which means I probably won’t be able to get any comics made till the weekend. So I’m setting the date this upcomming week (Tuesday) comics will resume as per normal on BOTH SailorSun.org and I Dream of a Jeanie Bottle.
Thanks for understanding.
Sorry all, due to a hectic week at work, plus having to get chores and other things done. The next comic will be delayed slightly. I fully intend on getting the next comic up before the weekend. But we’ll have to see how things go before I can get down to making it.
I’m sure many of you have noticed that the updates on Sailorsun.org and I Dream of a Jeanie Bottle has been less then regular. I hate to say it, but updates may be less frequent in the coming weeks.
For the past couple weeks I’ve been putting in a lot of long days at work, which translates into less time to make comics. One of the reason for the long days have been preparing for a trip to Virgina (United States). I’ll be there for just over 2 weeks. I do plan on bring my comic making things, but I don’t know now much time I’ll have to actually WORK on the comics; nor do I know if I’ll have internet access, so there may not be updates till I get back in March.
I’m not sure if my computer is suffering from depression or a feeling of loneliness or just old fashion spite.
Been building a Media Server for a friend (The second Server for different friends in 2 weeks) and when I finished up, I went back to my trusty laptop to make the next Jeanie Bottle comic and it Keeps spitting errors out when I try to boot it up…
So Comic will be delayed till I get this resolved. (Hopefully not too long)

I recently learned of a Kindle book written and illustrated by fans of “I Dream of a Jeanie Bottle”.
Now it’s not a fan-fiction of the comic, or of the TV show ‘I Dream of Jeannie’, but there is a scene involving a a genie, a date, and 3D glasses… (apparently 3D Movies are good first dates for Genies).
If your looking for more Genie-ish reading material and have a Kindle, IPAD, or any other electronic reader you can read Kindle books on, you may want to check it out.
Three More Wishes : Be Kind To Your Genie @ Amazon.
I’ll write more after I’ve finished reading it myself.
Hey all,
I hate to do it again, but this week (7th to the 17th of May) I’ll be away from home and unable to make comics…
I was hoping to make a backlog, but things keep popping up making it hard enough just to get the regular updates made.
Yea, I know, but it can’t be helped, work takes priority over comics. It is sad but true. Anycase, both Sailorsun.org and I Dream of a Jeanie Bottle will go on hiatus till I get back.
So to make it up to you… Here’s Neko in a Skimpy Arid Army outfit.
Well, It’s been a while since I’ve done a contest, so here’s the newest one,
Inside the Bottle!
We all know Jean gets stuck in her bottle when she tries to sleep. We can also assume she’s eventually going to end up trapped inside her bottle at some point.
So here’s the challenge, design what the inside of a Genie bottle is like.
The category bottles are:
You can enter either a drawing of what you think the bottle’s interior should look like, or create a blue print with a layout of where things are (No written descriptions). Artistic skill is not a factor.
Things to remember…
Jean’s bottle’s living area is ovalish, while Araceli bottle has a cylinder bottle;
Entries should be uploaded to a website and linked either in the comment of this post, forum post on 910CMX or on the DeviantArt’s journal entry
Each person can only win in ONE category, but can enter any/all and submit multiple entries.
Now onto the good part, prizes…
The winning bottle design will obviously become the designed used in the story.
The winners of each category will get a custom commission piece by myself of any SailorSun.org, I Dream of a Jeanie or other CD Rudd character.
(No comics, over complicated commission, Non-CD Rudd characters will be considered depending on the complexity, and no adult commissions)
Contest end date will be June 30th, 2012, so don’t wait till last minute.
Congratulations to LPHogan and Ty294 for their winning entries in the Jeanie Bottle contest.
LPHogan winning design is Araceli’s Bottle.
Ty294 winning design is Post-Jean’s Bottle.
All the entries were well thought out. The winning entries will be seen in the storyline.
Congrads to our two winners.
Hello all,
Sorry I’ve been missing the last couple updates on both SailorSun.org and I Dream of a Jeanie Bottle. Last week, I had a couple fast balls at work and in my personal life that had to be addressed ASAP (Nothing extremely serious, my family and what not are all fine). Between all the fast-balls, I’ve barely had anytime to myself, hence the comics had to pushed to the side.
I’m hoping to have everything resolved mid this week and updates will resume shortly after that. Also first chance I get it’ll mail out the donation image for those who have not yet recieved it.
Thanks all.

Once again, some of you might have noticed I haven’t been updating as much lately.
I’ve been extremely busy in the past couple weeks and sadly the first thing to give is the comic. I’ll be away most of next week and will not be updating till Thursday at the earliest.
Sorry all.
This Event is now OVER!
We raised over $1000! Yippy!
You can veiw the artwork created, at http://charity.910cmx.com/gallery/
December 1st (Saturday), I’ll be participating in the Web-Charity fund raiser. Where a bunch of talented artists will be online, drawing and raising funds.
I don’t know what time slot I’ll be given yet, but I’ll post it when I get it. There will also be a bunch of other great artists on… (not quite sure why they want me there)
You can find details on this event HERE.
The Venue will be HERE.
I hope to see you all there. I look forward to chatting with Fans and Answering questions… Maybe I’ll slip and give some useful tidbit about the current stories.
Yep, you heard right. Next week (starting on Christmas Eve Day) I’ll be updating extra story and filler comics.
So make sure to check back often, so you don’t miss any of the story or any of Jean’s hijinks.
Sorry all,
There won’t be a comic published this Thursday. (I may publish on the weekend if I can get ahead of my current obligations).
The reason… well, I flew home today, and was planning on making Thursday’s update when I got hom. Unfortunately my bag (with comic comic making hardware, mainly my laptop/cintq power adapters) was delayed in Boston. This pushes all my plans back a day at least. Hence, the delay.
Well, the current storyline is coming to it’s conclusion.
Next comic (probably next Tuesday) I’m aiming to be extra large, as we’ll see what happened to make of the characters we met recently.
Post your questions below in the comments. Neil and Jean will periodically be on to answer them.

Well, it’s not really a fan image, but I want it on the wall.
A dedicated fan printed this from my Deviantart account, and was able to get Barbara Eden to sign it while she was a guest at a local conversion. I have yet to actual see Barbara Eden (other then threw the magical TV set) so this is a bit special and gets a place on my wall. Thanks to Grellden for getting and sending it too me.
If you want to know what else is on the wall….
