I’ve been sick for the past week plus. I barely got out comics this past week. And I couldn’t get JeanieBottle finished up this week. I’ll try to complete it this Friday or Saturday and It will go up as soon as it’s done.
For YEARS I’ve told people, “The Jeannie Bottle webcomic site is Jeannie Bottle DOT com. Jeannie only has one N, though.”
Was this a spelling mistake? NO… There’s a couple reasons why Jeaniebottle.com has only one N.
First, the main character Jeanie’s original name is Jean. She’s called JeaNNie by people who don’t know her history (like Belle and Miss Eden), because that’s the usual spelling for a woman with that name. Those who *do* know Jeanie use to be Jean (like Neil, Rodge, and the reader) spell it JeaNie.
I know, some of the comics aren’t using the right version of Jeanie based on this rule of thumb. (Eventually we’ll be fixing those).
Second, JeannieBottle.com was already taken when I registered the domain (and still is). So, I went with JeanieBottle.com instead.
WHY am I making a post about this? Well, I have NEWS. (yea :D)
I’ve just registered, JBCOMIC.com. Jbcomic.com will forward to the current website. So when I tell people the comic’s web address (and when you guys tell others, too ), you can say “Go to JBcomic.com.”
YEA! This should make things easier…
That is all in this update for now…. CD Rudd signing off!
Once again, Christmas approaches. Most webcomics close up shop for the holidays, but not I Dream of a Jeanie Bottle!
This year will be our 3rd year of an Update-A-Day.
There will be a new comic EVERY DAY during the week of Christmas (the 22st to the 28th of December).
Jeanie Bottle updates so slowly during the rest of the year. This is my way of giving back, and to start off, this Monday’s comic is a whopper!
If you notice, on the right of the page is a new poll.
I’m curious which 60-70s TV shows you all have watched, or at least remember. In the last story, we had a Bewitched parody, which I always though was the perfect Yin to the ‘I Dream of Jeannie’ Yang.
I picked the most popular and well known shows I recall from watching TV when I was younger; ones I can conceive of being used as a parody in the comic (obviously game shows didn’t make the list).
Since not everyone remembers the same shows I remember, I wanted to get a good gauge of those which the readers know, and what I MIGHT use as parody shows in the future of the comic.
Not every show in the 2 decades made the list, and some I choose not to include because I didn’t know it well enough. I didn’t include every 60-70 show I thought of, but if you think of a 60-70s TV show that was a hugely-popular-iconic-classic-show which I missed and should be on the list, let me know in the comments. Remember, it may not make the final list.
Pick your top 3 favorite TV shows you would like to see a parody of with Jean and Neil interacting with (like in the B-Witched storyline).
And not to worry, I’ll be holding a 1980 and 90s poll in the future, so those shows will not be neglected.
P.S. Remember, it’s the 60s and 70s version of the shows. So Batman would be the Adam West version, and Doctor Who would be the early versions of the 1st – 4th Doctor
I know updates have been few and far between (especially on SailorSun.org). I spent last week (plus the weekend) at Comic-Con in San Diego. But that wasn’t all of my vacation.
The 2nd part was spending a couple days in the LA area. Today we were in Hollywood, seeing all the Hollywood sights. And we came across this, which I thought I’d share with ya all.
That’s right, Barbara Eden has a star on the Walk of Fame. Larry Hagman also has a star (on Vine St.), but we didn’t see it while on our short walk on the Walk of fame.
